Basic Morality
The controversies related to the pandemic have demonstrated a severe detachment from reality in society.
The controversies about the defence of rights and freedoms when it comes to things like masks and vaccinations is a misunderstanding of the definition of rights and freedoms.
People say they care about rights and freedoms, why don't they care about them for everyone? Why are protests erupting only now and why are those protests about masks and vaccinations? What about all the people who are victimized by problems that threaten their existence in a real and immediate way on a daily basis... the lack of the basic necessities of life, the security of food, shelter and healthcare?
The reason for the protests is because it's THEIR rights and freedoms that are threatened. They don't care about the rights and freedoms of everyone... they only care about themselves. It is immoral to complain about masks and vaccines when there are people in society who don't have basics like food and shelter.
This is why I am interested in "subsistence business"... figuring out how to help everyone get equal and reasonable access to the necessities of life.
